I'm a Fanilow! At the Las Vegas Hilton, you can visit the Manilow store to buy a "Copacabana" bobble head, "Mandy" T-shirts, Manilow-approved jewelry that runs as pricey as $950 for a necklace or a bottle of Manilow's own brand of Cabernet Sauvignon. For $10, you can join the BMIFC (that would be the Barry Manilow International Fan Club), and for $1,000, you can attend the club's August convention in Vegas and maybe even meet the man. (BugMeNot)

Two of my friends work for Manilow at his Stiletto Entertainment company.

They just completed a PBS fund-raising television program -- "Manilow: Music and Passion." It aired/is airing this week and next across the country on 130 PBS stations.

One of the sharpest memories from my childhood is singing Copacabana into a hairbrush in the basement of our house while my sister applauded me on. My other sister passed away a few months prior and I think it was the first time my sister and I laughed since it had happened.
