Y'ever go one a date, and do everything in your power to make it fail, miserably? Is it self-sabotage or self-preservation? Discuss.
*on*
*on a date*

My cat types all my posts, btw.

sometimes you're just not in the mood--to chat or be charming and stuff...it happens-- or -- something about the other person sets off some alarm, or skeevyness or something so you sabotage it, consciously or not.

I think you have to go at least two on a date for it to qualify as such.

Heh.

In answer to your query, no. I suspect that several of my dates have done so, though, and I know of at least one former girlfriend who sabataged a vacation we took together in order to get me to break up with her. Cute and evil, in the same package.

I'm on one now. This bitch has no idea I'm posting to MetaChat from my PDA. I told her I had some appointments to move around.

I haven't done that, exactly but I have had a wonderful date only to stand the guy up at the next one and have no clue why I did so. Self-sabotage? Probably.

Umm... I was joking in case anyone was confused (it was mentioned on IRC).

Yeah...It was after I found we had all the chemistry of a glass of water.
She was 40 minutes late (after I'd ridden my bike all the way to the Redmond Town Center AKA The Outdoor Mall from Hell...come to think of it, the bike ride was the best thing about it) and showed up looking like one of Tina Turner's backup singers.
We had dinner, then I told her that I had to go to a friend's birthday party (which was true).

Another time, my date showed up and I took her to the (Pike Place) Market. She was utterly uninterested in the place, despite never having visited the place before. So I suggested lunch, but every place I suggested was "too weird" and she told me that she didn't want Thai food. She'd never had it, but didn't think she'd like it. I gave her shit and was probably a little meaner than I should've been, but damn, I hate boring people!
