Prompted by this acquittal.

Fuck.
That made me cry.
People in pain.
A reminder of the banality of authority.
A reminder of what I hope I may have, in my sloppy ways, have given to my (now grown children).
A shitty end to the night but thanks for the post stilicho.

Beautiful. Makin' me a little teary.

If I become a parent, this - I think - will be one of my greatest fears. That my kids will not be Good People. Could I still love them and care for them?

If I feel this bad after reading this, I can't even imagine how devastating it will be for Alex and Chris in twelve years time.

DAMN.

It sounds like she's doing a good job raising 'em, so hopefully in 12 years time and on into the further future Alex and Chris will be intelligent enough to not even think twice about doing the right thing if they are ever in such a situation.

Whoa. Yes, it'll be a harsh day when they read that.

But God, I wish boys did hear this kind of message more. All these things, the ethics of being a human being in complicated situations where others can get hurt, should be talked of more.
