Thanks everyone. It is rough, I won't downplay that, but she has worked so hard to reach a point where she can act responsibly and with love that I want to make every effort I can to honor her process. Painful as it may be. Part of the last several weeks has been scanning and uploading hundreds of family photos, so my usual outlets of both writing and photography have been channelled elsewhere, namely, her. It's been valuable, but draining emotionally.

On the brighter side, I have wanted one of these cameras for years, but it's always been one of those things I could just never justify. I'm really REALLY looking forward to trying it out this Sunday at the dinner. SO. EXCITED. SOEXCITED. Did I mention that I'm excited?

Finally, I have no idea who Randall is and this didn't come from a Randall, but I do know who my benefactor is and Randall does indeed rock, whoever that person happens to be. Though it may seem like such a frivolous gift, the thoughtfulness and timing was suberb and has truly moved me. Thank you all, again.

The camera ROCKS. One of my Flickr pals is someone I go to know JUST because he takes amazing Holga pics of his post-industrial town in Poland, and I always ooh and ahh over them.
