Woah. Those stubby wings don't make such a good glider, do they?

I sort of like the idea that Lockheed pays some announcer guy to record those engine flameout warning messages.

Not an F-16. First of all, the bird goes in decidedly left of center; the intake is on centerline. Secondly, Lockheed *doesn't* pay an announcer guy. They pay a woman, affectionately known among air force pilots as "Bitchin' Betty."

Nice info Doohickie. For those that are curious (as I was), there's an article on Wikipedia about the BAE Hawk trainer jet. And for those who don't feel like hassling with a PDF, here's a page about this crash. Now I understand why the guy was saying "I'll fly it", and basically babying the co-pilot -- he was a student.
