NYC Filter: I'm looking for a vintage-style burlesque show, for this Saturday night. Where can I find one?
If you come to Asheville, next Wednesday you can go see the Rebelles at the Gray Eagle.

See, that's exactly what I want! But in NYC. I found some places on Google... but was hoping some NYCer would have a reccommendation.

I have friends who endorse the sisters and their work.

I think I saw something at galapagos one night, but can't necessarily recommend it.

I keep seeing items for Red Hots Burlesque at Babeland and I figure that any show that's hip enough to advertise there has to be good. And there's a free show tomorrow! Wanna meet up there?

My date is a shy fellow, TrishaLynn; I have to protect him from the outside world. We'll get a group together some other time, yes?

methinks Amy Goodheart might be yer girl. She's quite the entertainer. Sorry, don't know about Saturday night though.
This little revival started out well, with Amy Goodheart and Billy Madley wearing flawless period costumes and timing every gesture to the second... (search for "Goodheart" on the page)

sorry for the typical NYPress uber-cynicism. and it was the best link i could find.

I'll just say "sorry" again for a hat-trick.

TPS: Sure thing.... but depending on how I feel, don't be surprised if you notice me the free show. Free, man! You can't get a better price than that!

Hehehe. I've seen a few places online, so I'm not sure exactly where we'll show up. But free certainly is enticing.

I'm just joshin' ya, I'm a pretty shy fellow myself, and I'd swoon for a gal that took me to a burlesque show.

there used to be something like it at The Marquee (on Bowery) but i don't think it's going on anymore. In other news, tho, Suzanne Bartsch is back with a midweek party

I'd really like to go to one of these things sometime. Post back if you find a good one.
