01 March 2006

Just to Make You All Jealous It was 75 degrees in Asheville today.[More:] I opened all the windows (the ones that aren't wrapped in plastic anyway) and the house smells like summer. Also, I made bibimbop for dinner, just because I liked the name, and it was good. That is all.
75 in Columbia SC here too. My windows are still open and I spent my lunch break in my backyard hammock.

75 here tomorrow. I'll be cooped up in the fucking office. Wonderful. Hope this lasts through the weekend...

45 and overcast here. Suck it, haters!

It's actually pretty nice out. We don't need any of this "sun" nonsense that you other people have.

bibimbop is totally awesome.

Also, god bless global warming until such time as my dwelling is submerged (only about 15 feet above sea level where I am in Beantown).

MGL, we hit 77 in Brevard (which, for the uninitiated, is 45 mins from Asheville, home of my new office, and lair of the white squirrels). It's a record.

I'm not jealous at all. I love walking around in my long black winter overcoat, and today I started to feel a little warm. Coat season's almost over...

White squirrels? I know of one magnificent white squirrel in Boston -- pure as the driven snow. It lives by Jamaica Pond and is totally recognizable from a great distance. I've had numerous sightings over multiple years.

It's around 30 here - but that's centigrade. Someone who knows about these things might like to convert.

Upper 40s here; I even had the windows partly rolled down in my car this morning.

I saw black squirrels in Vancouver BC.

That's okay, honey, it's just one less thing you'll leave at Squeez next time you're there.

Google Calculator knows about these things, nomis! It was 86°F where you are. I love Google Calculator.

On the subject of strangely-colored squirrels: I've also admired the coal-black squirrels of northwest DC.

Moonbird, there's no such thing as a DERAIL when you're not on the TRAIN TRACKS!

There are black squirrels in Tompkins Square Park, too. I always used to wonder why. It might have been 77 here too, moonbird, I don't know. Gorgeous, gorgeous day, and the forsythia & the daffodils are all starting to bloom.

I love Google Calculator.

And now I do too! Thanks mikenumber.

84 here. I think it was a record high. I worked in the yard in shorts and a sleeveless shirt. Insane. Going to be 60 tomorrow though, still nice but more reasonable for the season.

...and just after I did a lengthy blog entry about the weather. This year, March Came In Like Snagglepuss.

This year, March Came In Like Snagglepuss.

Glancing over that on the Recent Comments page, I read it as "this year, March Came Like Snagglepuss", which consequently filled my head with that voice uttering all sorts of things one wouldn't hear in a children's cartoon.

I'll be seeking therapy in the morning. Where should I send the bill, wendell?

21 °F/-6 °C/267 K with heavy snow. When will you motherfuckers learn you just can't compete with my weather? It's the goddamn JUGGERNAUT of microclimates!

Here, it's raining shit.

Indoors, even.
