Just to Make You All Jealous It was 75 degrees in Asheville today.→[More:] I opened all the windows (the ones that aren't wrapped in plastic anyway) and the house smells like summer. Also, I made bibimbop for dinner, just because I liked the name, and it was good. That is all.

MGL, we hit 77 in Brevard (which, for the uninitiated, is 45 mins from Asheville, home of my new office, and lair of the white squirrels). It's a record.

White squirrels? I know of one magnificent white squirrel in Boston -- pure as the driven snow. It lives by Jamaica Pond and is totally recognizable from a great distance. I've had numerous sightings over multiple years.

On the subject of strangely-colored squirrels: I've also admired the coal-black squirrels of northwest DC.

There are black squirrels in Tompkins Square Park, too. I always used to wonder why. It might have been 77 here too, moonbird, I don't know. Gorgeous, gorgeous day, and the forsythia & the daffodils are all starting to bloom.

84 here. I think it was a record high. I worked in the yard in shorts and a sleeveless shirt. Insane. Going to be 60 tomorrow though, still nice but more reasonable for the season.
