Okay -- don't take time to think, just respond -- what is your favorite album of all time? Your favorite film?
Tales from Topographic Oceans - Yes.

Ordinary People.

Either London Calling, or Blood on the Tracks. Can't decide..Film? Erm...The Godfather is about as good as it gets. Maybe High Fidelity?

It's tough to pick only one!

I tried not thinking, and my mind just went blank. Anyway, I think Maxinquaye wins the album question by a slim margin. Favourite film would be the Fifth Element.

This is a cruel, cruel question and I wish you hadn't asked it.

Today, I will say XTC's Skylarking and All About Eve. Tomorrow might be the Clash's London Calling and Goodfellas or Tom Waits Heart of Saturday Night and Harold and Maude. All depends on my mood.

But it will never be Ordinary People, ericb. That movie destroyed me so thoroughly I can never watch it again.

See, if I had taken time to think my responses might have been a real album and a real film. :(

Album: Banco de Gaia - Igizeh
Movie: I plead the fifth.
posted by mosch 27 February | 01:36
(pleading the fifth because the movie that popped into my head did not get there through cinematic merit. It got there because of an association with the lovely mrs.mosch)

Album: Fine Art of Surfacing by the Boomtown Rats (although Surfer Rosa by the Pixies and XTC's English Settlement are always nudging at that number one spot)

Movie: Hard Day's Night (this one is harder than albums for me, becasue on another day Great Escape, Raising Arizona, or Goodfellas could be in that spot)

Um, okay: Sound Affects by the Jam. (And now immediately I feel guilty for letting down London Calling, Rain Dogs, Revolver, Low, and The Stone Roses. I'm sorry, children! I love you all, really I do!)

Favorite movie? *starts to sweat*
Uhhhhh. The Third Man? (Winces, can't even bear to think of the other movies I've neglected.)
