26 February 2006

I hate my neighbors right now. My stupid neighbors are having an extremely loud birthday party (the bad drunken singing has started)...and all I want to do is sleep after helping my sister out with her (very, very) sick kids today.[More:]
Two of my three nephews (the 1-year-old and the 4-year-old) have Ye Olde Rotavirus and have been vomiting for days. It was so heartwrenching to see how miserable they are...it's one of those times when you'd do anything to switch places with them if you could, but all you can really do is stroke their little foreheads and see if they can hold down another sip of pedialite. Poor babies.
See, it's times like this you need a gun.

Poor Scody. I hope you can sleep in tomorrow; it's a pretty sure bet they won't be making any noises above a whimper in the morning.

Hee hee...I do still have the target from the time my boyfriend took me to the shooting range (for our second date!). I wonder if I just go out and tape it on our balcony, which is directly facing their living room, if they'd take that as a hint. I got a bunch of kills on that one.

I don't know if they'd take the hint, but it might be useful for establishing "reasonable doubt" later. Your lawyer will certainly thank you.

Man, I know the feeling. I was feeling sick today and went to bed early, only to get woken up at 11 by a bunch of my roommate's sorority friends getting ready to go out or something while making all kinds of noise. Now I'm completely awake and can't get back to sleep, even though they already left a while ago.

Sorry to hear about your nephews though. Heres hoping they get well soon!

Gang of Four always wakes the neighbors. Try 'em at about 6:30AM.

My neighbors have terrible taste in commercial rap music.

Plus, they have a really shitty stereo, so when they crank up whatever worthless junk it is that they play, it sounds like some kid beating on an empty tennis ball can with a drumstick. *pbth pbth-pbth. pbth pbth-pbth*

Luckily I have really, incredibly and truly terrible taste in experimental and techno music - with the added bonus modifier of being able to route sound over every single amplified speaker in the apartment.

I don't know if they get the hint or not after the 423rd headsplitting repetition of a short loop of Belgium's latest hardcore terror noise techno, but I sure can't hear that kid banging on that tennis ball can anymore.

Ear plugs? If you can get through it, its money in the bank for the next time you crave some late night loud music.

You know, that sounds like it could be Gang of Four!

Ugh. Anything that deprives me of sleep bugs me. Except sex. :D I second the earplug nomination. It helps when traveling too, I don't leave home without 'em. Hope the youngsters are feeling better soon.

How about X at 9:30--or whatever time you're *allowed* to make noise? At the dingbat place I was living in in LA, I had a ranting psychotic on one side and the fishwife manager (who I called Mrs. Hanky until I saw the relevant South Park episode) on the other running her TV all night.

Do you get along with your manager? If so, report it.

Well, they finally knocked it off around 2:30 (it was a pretty abrupt silence, so I think they must have been compelled in some way). Then, shortly after drifting off, my phone rang at 3! 'Twas the boyfriend -- he'd just gotten off work, and as I'd sent him a text around 2 he thought I might still be up. He was worried about the boys and we hadn't talked all day since I was driving over there, so of course I wasn't mad.

Anyway, slept in till almost 11. Currently ejoying my morning tea; unless sis needs me to come over again, I'm planning to go to the gym, then the grocery store, then watch "Hard-Boiled" tonight. I hope the kids are feeling better today.
