22 February 2006

Yaaay!! [More:]After two weeks of hospital tests, where I've been poked, prodded, squashed (mammogram - Jeez, they f'ing hurt!), had needles stuck in me and been drawn on (!) I heard today that there is no malignancy, just lumps (or 'masses' as doctors call them).

I am intensely relieved, as well as a little sore, having had 5 needle aspirations from each boob this morning.

I feel like I wanna dance!

Hooray for healthy boobies! I'm glad it all worked out OK for you, essexjan.

On preview: That cat is freaking me out! I fear it wants to attach itself to my face.

Yay boobies! Go team boobs! Believe it or not, although I am waaaaaaay to young and there is no reason for it other than insurance recommending it, I have just this morning scheduled my first boobiesqueeze for the end of March.

Congratulations! I hope you recover soon from all the poking and prodding. Have yourself a martini and some chocolate.

I'll take the chocolate, matildaben, but I'm one of those who can't have just one martini, so I don't have any these days :-)

Great news essexjan! And thanks for the cat dance. Isn't that the dance Steve Martin used to do in the late 70's?

Felicitations to you and your healthy pair.

I'm so happy for you, essexjan! What a relief it must be after having no doubt been walking on pins and, er, needles waiting for the result. Salud!

Health rules! Yay, essexjan.

(Hey, if I had a PSA blood test last Wednesday and haven't heard anything from the doctor yet, that means there's nothing to report right?)

Wow, I didn't even know you were going through that. I'm so very, very happy it's over, though, and that the news is good.

and I love dancecat!

dancecat looks like he wants to be in Cats the Musical really really bad.

I hope he gets it.

Congrats, Jan!

And cat with jazz hands is just *wrong*.

danostuporstar, they are probably just getting a baseline, you spring chicken.
posted by rainbaby 22 February | 11:52
Oh man, is that ever good news!

(I know a little about how you feel: last year a teeny lump turned out to be absolutely nothing at all, and I was walkin' on air even though my heart was broken and I had a boiling water burn the size of Texas on my stomach. Really puts things into perspective.)

So yay boobies!

Huzzah! Great news indeed.

The cat does scare me a bit, mostly because she lloks just like one that did attach herself to my face. But that's my problem, not yours.

Yaaay! As for the mammographic sqeezings - engineers are busy looking for other ways to do imaging that are totally painless. (Family-link? to y father's research project at his university)

That's really interesting. I'm sure that if men had to have their balls crushed every which way just to get an idea of what's inside them they'd have quickly invented something like your dad's machine.

"I'm sure that if men had to have their balls crushed every which way just to get an idea of what's inside them they'd have quickly invented something like your dad's machine."

From which logic, women should have invented a solution for their own discomfort by now, too. Trust me - prostate exams and colonoscopies are no damn picnic for men, either.

Fantastic, essexjan. I'm glad to hear your good news. My mother's breast cancer was difficult for my family, and her survival more than a relief.

It took seeing a future without her to realize quite how much we all depend on each other. Hugs and kisses for everyone you love and who loves you. You all deserve it.

Seriously, I'm almost in tears of relief thinking about you (and mostly her, go figure).

But please can it on the ball-crushing thing. Doctors don't do that because it would cause irreparable harm, and in most cases, a broken nose (their own).

Also what It's Raining Flo said upthread a few.
