Candadian bunnies...I have many questions... [More:]
I'm moving to Toronto in two weeks. I have a few questions:

--I'm looking for a cell phone company that's reasonable, has decent phones, but also provides a plan with unlimited calls to the US. Am I dreaming?

--What areas of Toronto should I just absolutely stay away from when looking at apartments? (I saw the askme thread the other day, which got me to thinking about it).

--Any other recommendations for all the crap I'm going to need (banking, job seeking resources, cool places to go)

--When the heck are we going to have a meetup?

hugs and kisses and thanks in advance for any advice!
Ohhh.

Paying attention to post preview never seems to happen for me when I'm at work.

What are the odds no one notices my spelling mishap?

Well, I wish I could help more sasshat, but I am not that knowledgeable about that particular area of Candada.

hee hee

Seriously, I don't think I can answer a single one of your questions, but welcome to the neighbourhood!

Bascically (for my tastes), you want to be somewhere south of Bloor, West of Church, and East of Christie.

Of course, I don't actually live in that box now, but soon... soon.

I love Toronto so much... I'm going there next month to see The Sisters of Mercy!

I am very, very, very jealous of anyone who gets to live there.

I, unfortunately, do not have the skills necessary to jump the border. In that I have no skills.

A guide to Toronto neighborhoods. Also if you are going to have high speed internet and you will be making a lot of calls to the U.S. I would suggest a Vonage IP phone. As to cell phones I have found Rogers the best.

Sass, some of the info in this AskMe post by our Dobbs might be helpful in terms of general info about neighborhoods.
