Neat stuff, matildaben - it's odd little things like this that got me interested in the natural sciences.
Specklet - enzymes are just proteins; it's not surprising that a polypeptide with catlytic properties at low temperatures would denature (I'm suspecting the scientists were using a bit of hyperbole when describing the phenomenon) when warmed up. A neat trick would be an ezyme with the same catalytic properties over a large range of temperatures.
