RPE is setting out to build, market, and license the world's first Mars-themed adventure resort that will authentically simulate what it will be like to be on an expedition on Mars in the year 2035.

RIP SimMars vaporware :`(

there's an interesting story in scientific american this month about mars, deep space travel, and deadly cosmic rays... which have a nasty tendency to shred your dna into useless bits of spaghettini. more specifically, it sounds like these cosmic rays could be a real showstopper for any manned missions to mars in the foreseeable future.
