What the hell is a go forward basis? I just don't get it.
Well, as you forward bias a p-n junction the applied E-field opposes the built-in E-field, thus reducing the depletion region. As the depletion region shrinks the diffusion currents increase. It's the sum of these diffusion currents and the drift currents that give you a net current across the junction.
Wait... we aren't talking about solid state electronics? Never mind.
I take it to mean "whatever you just said that pretty much shows that our project is impossible/illegal/ridulous needs to be ignored, so let's just pretend you didn't say it. Agreed, OK?"
1) It's an insipid form of expection: "...something which can immediately be placed into effect, preferably by any dilligent self-starters we may need to involve in the project...that is, if you will, a clear plan that can be used right away, with a clear vision that'll allow us to stay on the same page at all times."
2) It's an insipid form of compliment: "I/you/we/they can always count on ___ at a moment's notice. Yep, always there, at any time, and smart as a whip, too! A true go-to type."
3) It's an insipid form of affirmation: "When our group offers its consulting services, it's always direct and to the point, without wasting any time. Because, you know, clear visions often need to be employed in a very direct and to the point basis, particularly if it can be done without wasting any time."
4) It's an insipid cue for (implied mutual) acknowledgement: "Bob, I see you standing in the hallway - I'm assuming you're still working on that very important assignment, correct?"
"Um, yes, boss, I'm right on it-"
"Glad to hear it. It's great that we can touch base like this, because that's how results often get done here. Just so you know, of course."
"Right, sir. Loud and clear."
