My cat loves The X-Files, Guild Wars, and pound cake. [More:]Seriously, she is absolutely entranced when I watch the X-Files, doesn't take her eyes off the screen. When I play Guild Wars, she sits at attention on the corner of my desk and doesn't move anything but her tail. And I have to hide pound cake whenever I have it--I assume it's the butter and cream that make her crazy.

What does your pet love that is awwww-inspiring?
Interesting that you bring it up, I've been watching the best (highest rated) episodes of The X-Files all day.

Man, that series was fine television programming.

My dog loves Saks Fifth Avenue (dogs are allowed in a lot of the fancier NY department stores). It's all I can do to keep her from touching her nose to the couture.

No pets right now, but my dog used to be disturbingly enthusiastic about carrots and bananas. When you opened the peel on a banana she'd be at your feet within 15 seconds, regardless of where she'd been in the house.

Porpoise, please share. What were the best episodes of the X-Files? Only a bittorrent session stands between me and those episodes...

I just culled them from TV Tome's highest user-rated episodes. Not the most objective of lists, but it was a handy guide. It's missing a few of my personal favourites such as Postmodern Prometheus, How the Ghosts Stole Christmas, The Unnatural (I'm a sucker for the ending of that episode), and The Goldberg Variation (off the top of my head).

I've been meaning to compile a set of the Mythology Episodes for a friend but haven't gotten around to it yet (she always bemoans how her bday is on Vday and how it sucks every year; was meaning to do it as her bday present but, luckily, she's finally dating someone so I let it slide this year)

Cheerios - If I have Cheerios I have to flip Oliver one. He goes insane - bounces off the walls, chasing it about, pouncing here and there with a final leap and then he eats it.

Booze - the mister cannot leave a glass of scotch, wine or beer unattended or Oliver is face first into the glass.

Soda - once a soda has lost most of the bubbles you'll find Oliver face first in it if you're not watching out.

He'll try just about anything food-wise at least once. He loves lettuce, spaghetti sauce, gravy, all sorts of cheese, broccoli. The cat is insane.

I used to have a cat that would purr whenever I played punk or heavy metal on the stereo, but if I played R&B or hip-hop he'd storm off. occasionally he'd lean back on the couch with his legs spread. i figured one day i'd come home and find him in my underwear drinking my beer, the little bastard.

I have an orange cat that likes carrots, so much so that I can't put plastic bags that have had carrots in them in the garbage. She'll knock the bin over, drag the bags out and roll around on them in the middle of the living room floor (At 4 AM, of course).

The little white cat gets very concerned when I take a shower. Some days she'll sit on the bath mat and howl when I'm getting soapy. She's part siamese, so she's got a good set of pipes on her. She's much less stressed when I get out. (At this point the carrot-lover likes to hop in the tub and splash around in the puddles.)

Our Kayla has a thing for the cheese in mac-and-cheese. Won't touch the pasta itself, but when she sees you're done eating, she'll absolutely climb your leg to get to lick the cheese sauce off the plate.

Since she has such a flat face, she ends up with this orange ring around her face that she spends the next two hours licking off. Cracks me up every time.
