My Turn for Dream Analysis I dreamt about gorillas and a lion last night ~ what does it meeeeeeean?
→[More:] Here's the dream as it happened. I work for a zoo in a shopping mall. In the center of the mall is a large open field, and the roof is open around it. The fences have been taken down for construction, so I have to walk some animals on leashes to give them exercise. I am fairly blase about this job. I have two small gorillas (at least, I call them gorillas, but they looked more like baboons) and a lion to walk. The lion is fine; he is obedient and sweet and stays right on his leash, but one of the gorilla leashes breaks. I send my son, who is there kind of playing around in the field with a friend, back to the zoo office to get another gorilla leash - I have to yell at him because he isn't moving fast enough. While he's gone I realize that I have two nice new leashes in an ornate Japanese bamboo holder anyway. I go to put them on the gorillas, but as I do this I drop their old, frayed, creepy leashes and they run away.
I chase them through several doors and into a sort of warehouse looking room. I still have the lion on the leash with me. There are three people in the warehouse. I ask them if they've seen two gorillas. Yeah. says a blonde woman. We saw them. I realize that the only way I'm going to get any information from her is if I ask her extremely specific questions, so I do. Finally we narrow down that the gorillas ran out the loading dock door. The other two people in the warehouse are watching them play across the street. It's dark outside and you can barely see the gorillas in the light from the streetlights. The people in the warehouse say that the gorillas deserve to be free and I shouldn't try to catch them. I say I'll lose my job, and they just look at me.
