I love me some Gary 'U.S.' Bonds. His records always sound like they were recorded either on a space ship or a raucous party or perhaps a raucous party on a spaceship.[More:]

So here's Quarter To Three, I Dig This Station, Soul Food, and This Little Girl.

Three Classics and one from his late 70's Springsteen/Steve van Zandt produced solo album.

side issue: what's up with all the musicians named Van Zant or Van Zandt? You got your Ronnie, Donnie & Johnny of the Skynyrd/.38 Special mien, Townes the great country singer, and Miami Steve from the E Street band. That's a little eerie.

It's probably incestuous.

And damn me for forgetting my USB portable drive today that I usually use to download music to. I have been damned! Damnit.

Great stuff jon! I first discovered Gary from "Out of Work" in high school and then went backwards through his catalog. At the time I couldn't believe that he was the same guy that recorded stuff like "Quarter to Three" so much earlier.
