I'm hooked [More:]

Seriously, do not eat these things. They are too delicious. My Whole Foods keeps mysteriously running out of them.

It's a conspiracy. Friends of mine, also addicted, will travel far far away just to get them.

I'm eating some right now...
sasshat, I love ya, but I gotta beg to differ. Chips are an exception to the "expensive gourmet/organic=better" rule. Chep chips like Wachussett, Utz, and Herr's (esp. these)have always stood me well. For further illumination. YM of course, MV.

Jon, you don't understand. These aren't chips like potato chips (when it comes to potato chips, I'll eat Winn Dixie brand).

These are little cruncy bits of heaven. They aren't greasy, they're nutty and salty and delicious. And they have pretty purple lines in them.

Soundss like Bush's next product.

I discovered these when I was in college. Man, the purple and the dark orange ones just *rocked* - hmm, might have to buy a gallon of peanut oil and some sweat potatoes tomorrow... (I haven't seen terrachips in Canadian stores.)

I only like the Taro ones though. The rest of the Terra chips bag? Eh.

But the Taro...mmm.

Last time I had sweat potatoes I was kicked out of the gym.

They are good, yes, but nutritionally identical to plain old chips (as far as calories, sodium, fat go). Hated to burst the bubble of my friends who would pick these up from health food stores, but made it a lot easier for me to bum from their bag.

On my way in to the Garden to take in a Knicks game last week, a concessions fellow with a whole box full of bags of these chips offered them "free, man, take 'em!"

I only took one bag (my appetite for this sort of chip is small) but my bro took two.

I tried them when I got home. Not bad, but not particularly good, either (I'm a pretzel guy, unless they're plain jane Utzes).

HA! This post made me smile. My ex-wife is part-Samoan and we ate these all the time, and I agree that they are the only good Terra Chip available. I can motor thru a bag of Taro chips faster than any other kind.

Good on ya for discovering them.

I think those things taste like cardboard.
