Does Anybody Remember Laughter? [More:]Yeah, it's the ultimate cliche rock classic, but I hadn't listened to it for about a decade before randomly picking How The West Was Won off the rack at random tonight. It's a live version from 1972 when the boys weren't yet bored with their own material and the enthusiasm shows. So, crack a beer, light a fattie and dig it. You love it. you know you do.
I do love it. I really do. There's not many bands that have ever matched the Zep for rocking-out factor.

Well now I know where that line in Almost Famous came from. I'm embarassed I never realized that before. (And that I expect the link to be to Fever Dog.)

This is weird. On Thursday, Mrs. Commish bought me a small photo album to finally put all my old ticket stubs into. Of course, I started with my stub from the March 3, 1977 Led Zeppelin show in Oklahoma City.

On Saturday, we went to the local mall to try to redeem a $25 Filene's gift certificate she got for Xmas. As she's looking at jeans, I'm poking around in the over-priced t-shirts, and find a new release of the shirt I bought at the show in 1977. (I think I paid about $5 for the shirt at the time, of course - it's still packed away somewhere).

Now this.

All that said, there's no way I'm listening to the song again. Ten jillion times is enough.

Heh. Well, here's a bonus track for your ass:

Motorhead & Girlschool's volcanic cover of Johnny Kidd & the Pirates' 'Please Dont Touch.'

I was 5 days old on March 3, 1977. My Zeppelin fanaticism came later -- I'm really pissed that I missed seeing them play in their prime.

No, but I remember alcoholic intoxication, or as Bertrand Russell would say, I'm acquainted with it.

I think I totally freaked jon out by mentioning that I'd never heard this song before in my entire life. ^_^
