The 50 Most Loathsome People in America The Annual List Of The Beast... You know what we really really need? A list of the 50 Most UNloathsome People in America.[More:]
I'll start with the A's:

Alton Brown

Alison Hannigan

Adam Savage

It's dangerous to include politics, but Al Gore has taken some big steps away from Loathsomeness lately...

And non-American nominations are OK too.

Come on! Who ISN'T Loathsome?
Oh no, you mentioned Alison Hannigan. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

I like this idea and would like to add one little thing, who they are and why they deserve recognition.

Gavin Newsom - SF Mayor, deserves recognition for pushing gay marriage into the national spotlight, for being an honest and passionate politician.
John Murtha - Congressman and war hero, deserves recognition for castigating the Bush regime's lies for going to war and risking his own career to do so (the Swift Boat wonks are trying to smear his outstanding military service record as we speak).
Pat Tillman - patriot, football stud and philosophical enigma. For following his heart and not his wallet, for being the kind of man who would turn down a huge contract with the Rams to stay with the Cardinals because they gave him the chance to play. For being a man so committed to his beliefs that he gave up a lucrative career in the NFL to go to war against the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11.

fenriq: ditto on Murtha & Tillman. good call.

I hope I am on there. Dammit, I'm on there, right??

While I agree, fenriq, that the current smear campaign against Murtha is disgusting and wrong, I remember his name coming up during the congressional junket scandals of the early-mid-80's, and his war hero status was a trump card then, too. But he's a good man at the right time.

I'd also give props to Tillman's brother, for telling the President to go fuck himself (in as many words) at Pat's funeral.

I'll have to think more to come up with a list of my own.

Oh, I wasn't on there. Oh well.

As for the good list, I have a horrible headache and can not think of anyone at the moment. HEAD IS COLORING EVERYBODY HATEFUL PURPLE TONES.

Do we allow MeCha-ists on the list? After all, Adam Savage has an account at MeFi...

And politicians are always dangerous to put on a list like this. They can do, like ten awesome things in a row, then ten loathsome things. Personally, I think Al Gore has gotten off the loathsome list lately, but you can't be too sure.

Well, I hear he's going to be the next celebrity on So, You Think You Can Dance but that's not finalized.

No surprise that's the crowd Hugh Janus hangs out with.

Though you forgot the Irish philosopher Paddy O'Furniture.

Almost forgot:
- Drew Peacock

I considered Paddy, wendell, but left him off the list due to allegations of "tearing up the backyard" and "leaving marks on my legs."

However, I'd consider Paddy O'Burrito for his tireless reheating effots.
