I believe it was this image (1986) that started his photo collages.

His thoughts on visualizing the world really melt my brain! My favorite of his work was a picture of him standing in a drained pool he painted with a continuous 3" squiggly line that crossed itself all over the whole bottom and sides of the pool. Must have looked really cool while swimming in it after! It inspired me for a big caterpillar skin I made for a parade last year.

Any Hockney fans in L.A. (or likely to visit!) should know that there's going to be a large exhibition of his portraits opening at LACMA on June 11.
