Ask Mecha: help me find a Winamp skin. →[More:]
I seem to recall there being some Winamp aficionados here. So, my new music setup is highly conducive to Winamp, and less so to other players. Now that Winamp has a nice Library feature I actually quite like it. But I prefer one-window music players, and most of the skins I've found for Winamp have been either too flashy or just not very attractive/functional. What do you use? Is there any way to get a skin that's single-window like Itunes/Mediamonkey/Musikcube?

I like the winamp modern skin better for regular use than any others I have encountered. It comes with newer versions of winamp. I have a bunch, but most of them are flashy enough to get on my nerves after a while.

I used to use the classic skin, but I think it's easier to find everything in modern.

Hmm. Yeah, you're all right, I should have given Modern more of a chance. It's not bad. I'd still prefer a one-window config, though. Thanks!

I'll throw my lot in with the Modern, though if you wanted to try a different one, MMD3 isn't too too bad, though the screen footprint is a little larger than the Modern. There's another that I like that's simple and functional that I can't recall the name of right now (and I'm not at home) so I can't check. I'll try to remember the name of it and post it here, probably tomorrow.
