I always thought I'd have to go to Alaska to see this ... ... but I'm watching him on Sky news and wishing I was in Central London right now.

I think I once saw a whale in the bay at our seafront (we were sitting outdoors at a cafe, facing the sea). My husband thought he saw it too... but it was only a second... so we're still not sure. That was bizarre enough... but in the Thames - that's very strange, indeed.

Poor whale! Yes, do keep us posted, please.

A second whale has been spotted at Southend-on-Sea, which is where the River Thames meets the sea and probably about 30 miles downstream from the first whale.

This is amazing!

Akilter works for me and I agree about wanting to know why. I'm probably anthromorphasizing (or however it's spelled) but I think that, sometimes, they're trying to tell us something is fucked up.
