tr33, the 40's (so far) have been great. I can't remember who said it in another bday thread that 30's were better than 20's, 40's better than 30's. It's true!
I was 41 in November. But my family threw me a birthday party and pretended it was for my 40th since they missed it the year before. (It had a Buffy theme. I'm now without question the world's greatest nerd.)
And congrats to quonsar! That's a big milestone and you deserve all the praise you can get. So, congratulations a second time. :)
Next weekend Mrs. tr33 has rented the top floor of our favorite bar for a party, so tonight will be rather quiet, some drinks and yummy pizza. Adult Swim from last night.
The 40's were my bestest most exciting decade. Thrills, danger, adventure, secret field ops, fast cars, guns, moonshine, chasing terrorists, busting crooked cops, terrorizing bad guys and doing good through doing harm.
Though I must say there was a distinct shortage of slender young women compared to the 30's.
Go for it,tr33hggr. Mid-life crisis can be a lot of fun. I highly reccomend it compared to the alternative.
Have a grand 4-0. I'll be turning 40 this July and it's no big deal to me. I've actually enjoyed getting older so far. Except for the part about not bouncing back as quickly from staying out late a few nights in one week.
Happy 40. Hope you got everything done that you wanted to before turning 40. Not that you can't get it done now but yesterday, the lady and I were discussing what we'd like to get done by 40. It was an arbitrary age though. Just thought you'd like to know. It's arbitrary. That's all. Tell us how it went though.
