Cirrhosis is a really scary disease - and chronic alcoholics aren't the only people to develop it. Viral hepatitis is a real bitch; even if you aren't travelling to danger zones, it's a good idea to get vaccinated/boosted for Hep A and B. For Hep C, well, wear and condom and don't share needles.

Transplantation brings a whole slew of its own problems, problems that could be overcome by figuring out how to create/extract stem cells from people and programming them to develop into the appropriate organ(s).
