I also saw the Larry King interview with Frey. Of course King 'lobbed' softball questions ... still Frey 'bob-and-weaved' with such utter bullshit (e.g. decontructing the concept of 'memoir' -- as one's subjective truth -- STFU). And,WTF, having his mother interviewed in the closing segment. Fuck.

Larry King is as asinine an interviewer as James Frey is an author. I could give a shit about either one. The only good Larry King show I ever saw was when Tony Robbins was on, and it was only notable because Larry looked pissed that he couldn't talk enough. Two outsized ego-windbags grinding each other down for our viewing pleasure. Whatever.

I think frey is the worst kind of dick, his whole schtick is like a neat little pamphlet describing exactly what is wrong with the American soul these days.

I'm glad I don't have cable because every time I see Larry King I want to get all coked up and go out and shoot owls with rock salt from a 20 gauge.

Seeing him interview Frey would be too much like watching a supporating hemorrhoid chatting up a glistening skinless rattlesnake.

I can't stand Larry King... Never could, but then I read some sort of expose about his pre-fame life... How he was a total scumbag who stole money from his friend, etc. I thought it was a Smoking Gun thing, but I guess not. Does anyone have any links or remember seeing this info about him?

Hm. The thing I'm remembering is much worse (in my estimation). It was, like, a friend who took him in we he was broke and out of work, and then he stole money from this same guy. Low-of-the-low kind of thing. I hope I'm not totally slandering him, but I'm sure I read this somewhere. dammit.
