MeCha Trivia is 26 hours and 30 minutes away (this is a reminder). First round starts at 7pm EST (Midnight GMT). Questions for both sides of the Grand Meridian. Be there on IRC tomorrow, w00t!
I'll check into this thread in a coupla hours, off to the gym. Leave any ?s here about the game (or anything really) and I'll try to answer them in clever and silly ways.

Will questions be directed at specific players, or is an answer-before-the-other-person does thing?

Can you post a brief outline of the rules you've come up with?

*excited*

Is it OK if us west coasters join in a little bit later? I don't usually get home till about 5:30 or 6:00 PST (8:30 or 9:00 EST).

Or is it like a pub quiz, with 5 (or so) questions going out, and we have a certain amount of time to get the answers to you?

please let me not have a shitty long day at work so I can get home in time to play this

All questions will be given in a round, directed to all players. Answers are to be handed in at the end of each round.

We'll do it on IRC. Four rounds, 30-40 questions total. First two rounds will be varied questions, the third a 'speed' round, and the final a 'bonus' round. The Quizmaster will type the question, but individual (or teams) will private the answer to the Quizmaster unless the question is a 'shout-out' (first to respond in the chat room wins). Only one rule: no googling (unless the question is specifically a 'google-fu'). Googling or other 'cheaty' forms of finding the answer other than chatting among your team (if we do teams) kinda spoils the fun.

Absolutely, though I dunno how long the process will actually take. I may host another round for west coasters later in the evening, for your entertainment.

It's more based on the pub quiz model, and the speed round is the only timed round. So, not so much "jeopardy" style. However, there are "shout-out" questions which the first correct respondant winz0rz. They will be honored in thread, and the standings per rounds will be posted in thread as well.

Since this is an introductory game, the difficulty is at about 6 or 7 out of 10, and there are 4 rounds where you can prove your trivial mettle. After this game, I'll open this up to assistants or other Quizmasters... or for others to contribute questions, etc.

This is going to be a royal hoot and I'm so psyched. I just got back from co-hosting pub trivia and can't wait to try it this way., Either way, the main objective is riotously fabulous fun.
