How long for anonymous approval on MeFi? I posted an anonymous question over at AskMeFi three days ago. It never showed up, and I never got any response from Matt.

Matt says there's a lag as he reviews all the anonymous questions. How does he let you know if he's rejected it? Does it just never show up?

If it's going to show up, does it always show up within a day or so?

I'd post this question in MetaTalk, but of course I can't post there for 4 days after posting my anonymous question... sigh.

Anybody else get just a little too excited when a whole slew of anonymous questions hit the main page of AskMefi? It's like "Oh boy! Secrets!"

Christ it's raining anonymous posts over there (seven today so far). Maybe Matt was batching them up. I'll give it another day before I pester him about mine.

it could be that he's overwhelmed with anon posts so parcelling them out slowly, or that he rejected it (but i think they email the posters if they reject)

Matt would know 100% for sure if the question was in the "to be posted" queue, I could only give you my best guess. If you don't want to email him, try catching him on AIM (mathowie) I find it's pretty easy to get quick answers from him that way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe anon questions don't count against your wait-period because they're all posted by matt, and he doesn't pay attention to who asks them.

I think that it not appearing, when others have, means it was rejected for many possible reasons. I put in an anonymous question several weeks ago that never appeared; on consideration, it was a poor question to ask and would simply have provoked a good deal of pile-on rather than useful answers. The problem solved itself in due course.

I would think hard about why your question might have been dustbinned, and perhaps rewrite it.

whoo! Thanks for making me look at the anonymous questions! I had a great big belly laugh at If I have sex indoors (main-floor room) with the lights off, at night, in front of windows with the blinds open...what are the chances of being spied on with night vision goggles?

I haven't looked at the thread yet, so maybe it's not as funny as it seems at first glance... But that totally cracked me up.
