Oh my god if I saw this in real life and wasn't prepared for it I would be completely freaked out. Two foot long black furry spider?? (I guess the barking and/or panting would be a mitigating factor. Also the cute puppydog eyes.)

gaspode, you need to expand your imagination. Dress up some rats during your lunch break. Dress them up as tiny penguins in sweaters.
