heh
i can't get over how assholish that is. are they going to follow everyone around, or is it horrendously crippled so that it will recognize what kind of player it's in?

Good thing I don't really like them.

Wow, that new Sony protection thingy is really fucking working! Looks like this is the nail in the coffin for file sharing!

And the music industry proves, yet again, that they have absolutely no clue what their customers want.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll be able to find lossless rips of their CDs if I should ever have the urge to listen to them.

They have had a few songs that were kinda interesting for a few listens, but nothing that I can't live without. Don't like any of the new stuff.

This made me laugh.

i don't think coldplay is directly responsible as far as i know.
i mean, not all bands have total control of distribution and rights and price caps.
not everyone even thinks about it to the level of say, fugazi or radiohead.
mostly, it's just about getting it out there and then dealing with it.

i don't listen to the radio (end even if i did i'd not hear coldplay here) so i don't have backlash hate from overplay.

i think they are okay but i think they got caught up in a hypemachine starved of matter more than anything else.

explain smashing puumpkins, first.

honestly, i liked yellow and i'm sure i have it somewhere in here. i like the spoof too.
i have the blow to the head one, i think, and i liked it.

and i don't mind a kid named apple and i don't think it's weird or rare.

now pilot inspektor is a great name
what that scientist one?

Don't kid yourself, this is coldplay, they've got plenty of clout to do whatever they want to do.

but do they have the time or room in their contract?
i mean i don't know when they signed up if they thought they would do this with their product.
posted by ethylene 06 January | 08:23
i have no info on the subject but i'm just giving a benefit of the doubt here.
the big money industry is an suck void with a legal team.

pilot inspektor is a great name, FOR SOMEONE ELSES CHILD, it's good mental trauma art, it's too bad Jason Lee is a frikin clam, no?

Coldplay (for me, yah?) grates because they are popular all out of proportion to their talent (but since it was ever thus really I'm saving my abundant rage reserves for something else) they seem mostly inoffensive and bland, like a minivan with wood paneling. I wish he wouldn't put tape on his fingers and write on his hands, intentional eccentricity is super boolsheet.

Much, much more likely that they don't know, care or understand what the big deal is. The lives of the ultra-rich and famous (especially if they are not ultra-rich or famous for being smart) are heavily mediated and filtered. This is why people get all mad, and stalky and murdery about their heros, "Why can't they undertand what my life is like..."

Well, that and bad brain chemicals.

This warning is inside the cd case? You should have that warning before purchasing a cd. Assholes.

I like the one or two Coldplay songs I've heard. Not enough to buy any of it tho' and definately won't now.
