No, really. Can you imagine a police spokesperson saying this in the U.S.? Not only would about half the vocabulary involved be regarded as forty-dollar words here, but the idea that driving involves any responsibility or the vaguest awareness of what you're doing is considered a communist affront.
I agree with the fine. She shouldn't be pulling up on the hard shoulder of the motorway to ask for directions. Plus, she was only fined 30 squid. I really don't know why people are making a fuss about this.
Mind, I'm suprised nobody has asked why the Police were parked up on the hard shoulder. Because if it wasn't an emergency for them either, then maybe someone else needs fining.
