Unlike box, I do not think children are the answer.

However, regularly practicing making them certainly helps.

what worked for me:

Pretend not to be nihilistic. Act accordingly. Eventually the pretense becomes reality. (Except when I haven't had enough sleep.)

It doesn't have to be children, and I wouldn't pursue that route myself (I'd rather make art, or love, than babies)--more broadly, though, it seems like one way to avoid being a nihilist is the simple presence of something bigger than yourself. Even some stupid-ass cause or something. I'm not sure how helpful this is.
