Everything old is new again Actually, this is pretty freakin' cool in it's own way.→[More:]

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - With an appearance that draws heavily from the classic muscle cars of the late 1960s and early '70s, the Dodge Challenger, premiering in concept car form at next week's Detroit Auto Show, should satisfy those who thought the 4-door Dodge Charger just didn't have the right stuff.

This time around, the number of doors stays true to the original spirit. Just two.

There goes the challenger being chased by the big blue meanies on wheels. The vicious traffic squad cars are after our lone driver, the last American hero, the electric sintar, the demi-god, the super driver of the golden west! Two nasty Nazi cars are close behind the beautiful lone driver. The police cars are getting closer-closer... Closer to our soul hero in his soul mobile- Yeah baby! They about to strike, They gonna get him, SMASH! RAPE! The last beautiful free soul on this planet.

As a muscle car fan I find it too smooth, but they did get the little hitch above the rear wheel right, which is nice.

I agree about the smoothness, D_W... "molded" was the word that came to mind.

And George- BRILLIANT quote!! I've actually never seen that movie, even though I'm a fan of the racing-movie genre (Two Lane Blacktop, Fast Company, The Fast & The Furious etc).

Goddammit, when are the car designers going to understand that the conestoga-wagon-wheels look is UGLY on retro style cars!

A GT40 on real 14" Halibrands beats the new Ford GTs any day.

I do agree, the C pillar and the shoulders are well done.
