Thanks for this. I saw -- or at least noticed -- my first police box in Edinburgh. I promptly went round to a war surplus store and bought a British army jumper (sweater) so I could feel like one of those UNIT guys. Even if they are the DW equivalent of Star Trek redshirts, suitable mainly for getting killed by cybermen after first pretending to fire a machine gun at them to the accompaniment of hollow, laughably unconvincing sound effects.
