Tunes for a post-NYE-hangover open house? →[More:]What started as a soul-food New Year's Day invite for a couple of friends has ballooned into a full-on open house for like thirty of my coolest nearest and dearest (kmellis, you are invited; you'd be the triple sec in the margarita). Food is not the issue; I'm fixin' cornbread, collard greens, cole slaw (West Texas-style), ribs and the requisite good-luck blackeyed peas.

If you have any suggestions for tunes that might fit the first day of the new year (I'm thinking introspective, bluesy, mellow, post-hangover, this-is-the-year-I-finally-get-my-shit-together-but-I-don't
