Roger McGuinn's folk corpus. I found these poking around Gutenberg today.[More:]I only downloaded one, since I'm on dialup at home today, but it's a decent version of John Henry. For some reason it wouldn't load in my iTunes (Os X.2.8, iTunes 4), but it played fine in VLC.
I went to Gutenberg for Melville etexts to go with the excellent (!) biography by Andrew Delbanco that I'm reading, but for some reason they don't have a copy of the ambigious one, Pierre. Boo. I'm off to the used bookstore.
On the banks of the Ohio is a bit too chipper.

Are you familiar with the work he posts on The Folk Den? Some idiot posted it to MetaFilter a long time ago.

He's got a home page here and a blog too. I'm not sure if this list is dupes or not, but I've been listening to them on and off for a while. I requested Shady Grove back when he was taking requests for his monthly MP3 post but never saw it done by him anyplace free online.

Isn't it about time we did another Exquisite Codec? || Finally, I finished Cloud Atlas.
