Will you be donating 100 dollars Canadian or American to a charity? Otherwise, I'm not playing this game.

Well that settles it, then.

It seems a bit colloquial to me. I mean, I liked that about the Fagles Odyssey, but I don't want that with my Russians.

Maybe you should do "Array Potter and the Order of The Hash Table".

God, some of those sentences go on for, like, entire pages.

Are you using a novel chock full of Russian proper names to estimate digraph frequencies in English?

Wolfdog, very good point: I was just using W&P to test; I still have to find the "right" corpus.

And Mike has a point that hadn't ocurred to me, but also argues against Faulkner or Joyce.

Still, the strength of some of the diagraphs is surprising: 45% of "h"s are followed by "e"s; 53% -- over half -- of "d"s are followed by spaces.

How about some Stephen King? (And step up a directory for lots more yummy text).

Are you doing this in the name of keyboard design? I'd be inclined to ignore spaces - not that they're hurting anything - since, unless you do something very radical, the space is still going to be operated by the thumbs and so quite independent of the fingers.

But paying attention to punctuation could be useful. I've thought you could make some important improvements by moving some punctuation to the center of the keyboard, with a second sort of shift key to access it.

I hope it's a fun exercise, because it's not hard to type faster than virtually anyone needs to on a standard qwerty.

Spaces are important, as I'm trying to use two joysticks as the input, not a keyboard.
