ooh! A couple drops of rain just splashed against my window and I turned to look, barely in time to catch a fleeting rainbow. Rainbow inside!
I've seen a full rainbow (an arc all the way up and down) exactly once in my life, and that was this summer. Actually, it was a double rainbow, but I couldn't see the full arc of the second one. Stretched from the East End to the West End... it was beautiful.
That evening at dinner, everyone was talking about the rainbow instead of the war in Iraq, or what happened at work that week. It was really nice for a change.
Dig it, Taz. How cool, selfnoise. I've seen a lot of double rainbows but no full ones. I'm no physics expert but for some reason I thought those were only visible from the air?
I saw a cool rainbow just the other day! It was a huge arc, from horizon to horizon (as far as I could see, anyway) and part of it was a double. I gor a pic, but have to usb cord thingy to get it off the camera I've borrowed and onto my computer. Soon, my pretties, sooooon...
My grandpa died in 1995. All of us cousins travelled to Florida for his funeral. (I can't count how many -- there are at least 20 of us.) It was the first time we were all together in one place, and it was very cool.
My grandparents lived in a retirement park. After the funeral, a bunch of old folks from their park made a big dinner for us. The "rec hall" backed up to one of those creepy Florida canals. We were all out there after dinner, and someone said "Look, a rainbow!" After a second, it became apparent that there were actually two rainbows. But then, after another second, it turned out that there were three.
It's the only triple rainbow I've ever seen, and I think we all felt that Grandpa was smiling at us.
