Wow, Don Asmussen. I used to read his comic religiously in the Chronicle years and years ago, and then I moved out of the Bay Area and forgot about them. Thanks for reminding me!
LOL! Speaking of Broke[back], I was wondering if anyone has seen it and what their thoughts were. I heard an interview of the director on NPR last week, and I wondered what the gay male segment especially thought of it. I actually haven't seen the movie. I was trying to think of how I would view it if it were about women, not men, like if I would see it as a stereotype. Maybe my question would be more about how a straight audience would see the film - like if they had no firtshand experience with gay people in their lives, would this then become a compartment of how they think gay life is?
Regardless, I'm glad to see the subject finding its way into the "mainstream" in something other than a TV series.
i haven't seen it, but it's being overhyped in the gay press and stuff...all the straight people i know loved it, but they're all liberals or rockefeller repubs and have no issues about it--they have been raving about it.
