2005 Year in Review News Quiz -- Bush | BTK | Terri Schiavo | Pope John Paul II ...
You answered 60% of questions correctly.

Most of them guesses. I didn't pay much attention to 60% of those "stories."

I tried, but it was way too hard. So I gave up.

60% as well, panoptican.
I don't know popes, sports or american politics, but the rest I could do.

64%. The Katrina one fooled me, and the GW Bush one was sort of a trick question, but oh well.

I also don't think knowing actors in an old movie should figure into a "news quiz."

I didn't finish. I got mad because some of the questions didn't have much to do with the news, but with plain old facts.

Popes, sports and american politics killed me as well. The killed me good.

40%. I suck. I skipped all the sports questions, though.

48%, and most of the ones I got right were mere guessing.

Man I suck. 32%. But then again I'm not American and my interest in any sport, nevermind the American varieties, is approximately zero. Ahh fuck it, who am I kidding, that was an appaling performance.

Huh. So that's what news is.

76% ... of course.

I suspected they were going to count Grover Cleveland only once -- they should word it differently if they want to do that ("how many men have preceded him in office", etc.), since 42 is the official count. Cleveland was president twice, unlike consecutive-term presidents! /nitpick

And I was vacillating between correct and incorrect answers on almost all but the sports questions I got wrong. I especially deserved to miss the Alan Greenspan question -- I misremembered his nomination by Bush 41 as considered an early misstep.

I got 52%; I'm surprised I got that much.

Of course it really is mostly the 2005 American News in Review, though I'm not saying I would have necessarily done any better on an international edition.
