You aint gonna believe this update on our United Airlines mess...my son called from the RALEIGH airport as he actually got in at the regular time instead of when UNITED insisted...so he gets to cool his heels for an hour and a half as we jump in the car to go get him.→[More:]

United owes me that hour and a half, doggone it!!!!!

United customer service is complete crap.

(But son is home, hooray!

Well, I'm glad that (sorta) worked out. My own (very limited) experience with United has been fine, but just about everybody else I've known who's ever flown with them has told tales similar to yours. How do they stay in business?

Actually, I'm in Fayetteville, Yoga. Next time I am giving my son money and insisting he book his flight straight here to our airport.

United is a crappy airline. After flying JetBlue over Thanksgiving, I'm never flying anything else.

But I'm glad you've finally got him home!

bmarkey, government subsidies? I can't think of any other reason United stays open.

I echo the "United is a crappy airline" chant. It's my company's preferred carrier but at least they let us fly other airlines now.

More "suddenly" cancelled flights than I care to mention.
