Oh man. A chance to actually BE Speed Racer. Where was this when I was a kid?
I want the DVDs, but I know I'd be disappointed. Memories are better than revisiting actual childhood 'toons. Or are they? I want a die-cast Mach-5 too.
I guess it was Mach Go Go Go in Japan. "Go" means "five." Japanese band Puffy Amiyumi picked up on this when they wrote the theme song for the current anime-influenced Teen Titans cartoon, with lyrics ending "One, two, three, four, GO!" There are five members of the Teen Titans. Some epidsodes feature the theme song sung in Japanese.
