20 December 2005

MeCha Holiday Radio Later today, I'll be broadcasting all of the songs you uploaded in the xmas music thread.[More:]

I'll give you a start time once I figure out how much music there is, time-wise, but I'll be shooting for 1:30 - 2:00 Pacific.

If you've got more to upload, now's yer chance.
even "Yulesville?"

( you should grab up Darlene Love & the Ramones from my previous thread. too good not to include)

Somewhere I have that christmas song cd that John Waters compiled last year. Hrrmmmm I'll look around for it.

Heh, I was thinking about doing the same thing. There's been a few posted in other threads as well. Don't forget to play Jingle Rock Bell!

Has anyone ever heard (what I remember to be) the S&M version of "My Favorite Things"? I think I remember it being all of the airwaves on KNDD in Seattle about ten years ago.

Other threads? I got weretable's latest, but don't have time to dig through the others. And links are appreciated.

Also, I can't find a copy of Joan Fuckin' Jett's Little Drummer Boy, and I am so sad! :( :( :(

Hmmm. I was gonna add some holiday stuff to the end of a broadcast I'm planning for Thursday ('cause it's my birthday). I could upload some of 'em, instead. I'm kinda sick of holiday music, myself. I get battered with the stuff all night long at work. Stand by.

Your two are also two of my all-time favourites too, jon. Totally amazing.

That's too much to parse, dano. If you've got a YSI link, feel free to post it.

Got yours, jonmc.

Also two of my other cool yule tunes are:

Otis Redding's Merry Christmas Baby

and

Ashtray Babyhead's Winter Wonderland

(cool name eh? They changed it to something lame a couple of years ago...red or something like that)

Oh, and while we are at it...This isn't really a song per se, but I always laugh at Steve Martin's incredible comic timing whenever I hear:

Steve Martin's Five Christmas Wishes

Hmm. Lots and lots o' music.

Would anyone be inconvenienced if I moved the start time to 4 Pacific?

Just in case you missed it in the other thread:

Gayla Peevey - I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas

Jesus, people, you're killing me here!

Heh.

I'll start playing around 4. I realize that it won't work with everyone's schedule -- some of you are home listeners, some are work listeners.

Let me know when to rebroadcast and I will. We're looking at 3 or 4 hours of (really diverse) music.

I think I have the Joan Jett track. Watch my hohoho thread, if I find it I will post it.

I should be home by about 6:30 or 7:00 PST. I am looking forward to tuning in.

Are you just going to put everything on random, or do you have a plan?
posted by matildaben 20 December | 16:57
Whatever you do, you must play this. Truly one of the finest rock and roll christmas songs ever.
posted by jonmc 20 December | 17:08
I have a plan, dammit.

Already got that one, Jon. Thanks!
