We've gone away with the Pixies who top our charts this week.[More:]
Along with predictable indie stalwarts. I'd say the surprise showing is Calexico, and people are still playing Sufjan Stevens's Christmas EPs (mecha'd) and Kate Bush's new album (or maybe the tracks we all shared).

As for tracks, the top is a tie among "Rebellion (Lies)", "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart", and newcomer "American Jesus" from the Dean Gray mashup. After that, quite a bit of Antony and the Johnsons and Belle and Sebastian.

Really, though, I'm surprised how few people play the "top" tracks with 60+ members in the group and all. We have very eclectic tastes, I suppose ... I know that other Last.FM groups have much higher "reach" numbers with fewer members.

But hey! nonaya's playing P.S. Tail's "Jingle Rock Bell", which is like the greatest song ever! I only said it's like the greatest song ever, whateer that means.
god I hate wilco.

me too. but I love the pixies and radiohead, and I'm glad that they're at number one with no help from me.

There's also a message board post on Decemberists.com but it wants me to log in.

Hmm... Seems you folks need another set of obscure weirdness...

Go for it, klang. I'd like to hear the output of kenko's record store binge, too.

Below is the text of an email I received from one of the friends to whom I sent Jingle Rock Bell:

I played this and Sophia the Musical Kitty hated it. Her ears went back on her head, she walked down into the hall, glared at me, and wouldn't come back upstairs until it was over.

Everyone's a critic.

So I just revisited last.fm for the first time in ages (not since it was AudioScrobbler) and it doesn't seem to have updated any of my music.

Looking now, the little music sign on my menu bar (mac) is red. I assume that's bad. How do I make it work so I can fuckup the MeCha stats? :)

dobbs: I'd check your login info, first. Or just look at your audioscrobbler log (yes, they still use the name for that part), to see what error messages it contains. Or if it's 3Gb large.
