HELL YES HAPPY DANCE! Ice storm closes office! I'm going to bake everyone a cake!
Ooh... bummer: My nephew is going to school out there and needs to fly home to Buffalo in the next day or so! And when he flew home for Thanksgiving, his flight was canceled.... twice!
I hope it's clear in Cedar Rapids so my own son can get home from college tonight.

Ice storm fails to close office; intrepid bicycling mathematician stuck with proctoring all the exams when automobile-dependent types decide they can't possibly make it.
Too cool. Except I'm sitting here listening to the big pine in my next door neighbor's yard drop branches on her house. Also, it's dripping like crazy and raining; does that mean it's going to end soon? I have to drive up to Yancey County tomorrow, this had better be over by then. Meanwhile, hot chocolate & Jamesons for all!
mgl - Just heard on the radio that the freezing rain will turn into snow this afternoon. It would seem that this weather is killing my chances of getting delivery from APBC (craving hard here).
Now as far as the cake goes, the roads are pretty slick at Chez Moonbird, so until I can safely slide to the grocery store for cake-y type things, we make have to settle for frozen organic potato pancakes... I could try to make it look like a proper cake...
I don't know - pizza guys might be out, because unless I'm way mistaken, somebody just repo-ed one of my neighbor's cars. Hee. Either that or it was broken, but it was an unmarked flatbed truck & nobody came out of the house to talk or help the driver (who then slipped and skidded all over the road.)
