Some Ethiopian "Jazz" because I'm in the mood.→[More:]

All MP3s are tagged with artist and album, but they're from various volumes of the excellent 20 volume (and growing) set called Ethiopiques. If you're looking to pick up one of the CDs, my fave's #4, from which track no. 1 above is taken.

moonbird, sad to say I haven't, no.

Glad you folks like them. The volumes vary greatly in quality (even on the same release), but there's stuff to like on each one. I have 17 of the 20 volumes, the majority from emusic after buying a couple at Soundscapes here in Toronto.

dhruva, that first track is the one I like best. It also reminds me a lot of this early Sun Ra track, not because they sound so similar but because they remind me of wonderful nights spent with the same girl. The Sun Ra track is among my favorite tracks by anyone ever and will forever remind me of her.

Nice stuff, thanks. I loaded them up on my ipod before I left for work this morning and am listening to them right now.

I really should rejoin eMusic. I quit when they dropped their unlimited downloads model.
