Just a word of warning: compared to Jandek, Daniel Johnston is Burt Bacharach and Wesley Willis is Luther Vandross. Those two guys are colorful but cuddly eccentrics. Jandek lives in his own little world because nobody wants to live there with him.

A Jandek calendar?!? What will they think of next? I wore out my homemade Jandek t-shirt (Six and Six photo on the front and "po box 15375") and should probably make a new one.

If you're looking for more on Jandek without delving into a whole record (which I don't really recomend unless you know what you're getting into) try out the fascinating documentary Jandek on Corwood. My wife enjoyed it even though she knew nothing about him.

Slack, FYI (if you didn't know already), Jandek on Corwood is (co?) directed by MeFite cadastral. Indeed, it's excellent.

And though I love Burt Bacharach, I'd take Daniel Johnston over him any day. (Absolutely super documentary on Johnston coming soon--one of the best I've ever seen about an artist!) Willis vs Vandross would probably be a tie for me.
