'Pode, you're the scientist. Is there a scientific rationale for yawn contagion, or is it purely psychological?

People are always saying that yawns aren't contagious from animals to people, but I've successfully gotten my dogs to yawn by yawning in front of them, and vis versa.

Y'ever get a cat to fall asleep by staring at it and narrowing your eyes? It works, yo!

But you have to make sure you don't fall asleep too, or the cat actually wins.
