Hi!

woohoo! a whole thread all for me, me, me? Well, let's see then...

So, the circus came to town. Well, not so much the circus as the Thessaloniki Film Festival, and all was crazy in our house for four or five days. Here's a picture of me and mr. taz taken while dining out with film fest peoples:

This photo proves three things: the weather is still warm enough to eat outside (barely, some days); apparently, my head really is pointy; and I'm older than all y'all little snots, except my man quonsar, and I'm right on his heels - so no more whining about birthdays and old age, please.

Now I'm working on a restaurant site, and finishing up a very pretty blog I designed for another mefite/mechan, and, oh yeah - I don't even want to think about Christmas... Mostly because we have tenants who haven't paid their rent in something like six months... SO WE ARE EVEN MORE POOR THAN USUAL.

Wait, this isn't the shouting thread is it? Anyway, we're nothing like rich property owners - we have an apartment from my husband's parents, and with the rent we get from that, we pay the rent on our apartment. That's the way it's supposed to work, anyway. I love Greece... But ANYTHING that has to do with money, IN ANY WAY totally, totally SUX. I could go on about that... But I keep forgetting that this isn't the shouting thread.

What else? Um, yeah - now I need a drink. But it's only 11:45 am. Wanna see my bunny?

That is the cutest little text bunny ever. And you and the mister make a lovely couple.

Dear taz,

Hi. How are you? I am fine.

I did not have to work tonight. I bought furniture. Weirdo, blocky things. Do you like blocky things? It was cheap. I am drinking red wine. It is cold here. You are pretty. I like bunnies.

Have a nice day,
Love,
Frisbee (the Mini-Disc)*

Can one ship wine from the states to Taz-ville? :D

dear yoga,

I like the way you think! But could you just ship yourself over and make us a crimbo tree like yours? I promise to cook you nice things and hug you and squeeze you and call you "bunny".

best wishes of the season, taz

The photo also proves that taz bagged herself a hottie. As did Mr. Taz. Rowr!

I believe the phrase for Mr. Taz is "silver fox."

Dear taz,

I hope you found the half of a bottle of mertitage I left for you on the counter. It's nice and spicy and so very tasty. Also there's a chunk of cambozola and a wedge of taleggio in the fridge on the first shelf. Should be a baguette in the cupboard, too.

Hugs and have a good evening,
FG

(Oh, and watch out for that 'mertitage', it packs a punch. In the sober-ish light of day, it's really a meritage, but still so tasty regardless of how you spell it.)

Dear Specklet,

I lub u 2. and I'm listening to your awesome song right now!

(Friz, I thought the spelling was suspect, but I looked it up, and thought "hmm... rare!")

Hi, taz.

You and the Mr. are so cute!

I'm in my sweats, drinking coffee.

Have a lovely day.
posted by mudpuppie 06 December | 13:37
aw, pupp - we're always missing each other... I, of course, was having my morning coffee when you were going to bed last night, and I just called the cute mr. and asked him to bring home some beer... but maybe I'll go put on my sweats, and we can still be together in spirit.

It's true, taz, I always miss you. You know, miss-you miss you.

Dear taz,
Why does ouzo go cloudy when one adds ice?

Smooches,

posted by DeepFriedTwinkies 06 December | 16:23
Dear Twinkies,

It's from the essential oil (anthenol) in the anise which water or ice releases. Evidently, this is what give you the "ouzo headache", so if you drink ouzo, it's actually probably better to drink it straight. (But not too much!)

But we don't drink ouzo... We drink either tsipouro or raki with no, or far, far less, anise.

Haha!!!!! Oh wow. I was just looking up tsipouro to give you another link, and I found a website that I made a million years ago! Wow. I haven't looked at this site in ... at least eight years - probably longer. Wow.
