How strange, I was just telling someone on Friday night that they should check out Bill Hicks, since they didn't know who he was.

I read a comment somewhere (it may have been in a magazine) that I thought was very perceptive. They basically said that what Hicks would have said about GWB wouldn't be half as interesting as what he would've said about Michael Moore.

And of course anyone who remembers Hicks and his bit about how both parties were puppets controlled by the same guy would know that he would've been more bemused by the divisions in America and the lunacy it's inspired than anything else.

"I have this feeling that whoever's elected president, like Clinton was, no matter what promises you make on the campaign trail - blah, blah, blah - when you win, you go into this smoky room with the twelve industrialist, capitalist scumfucks that got you in there, and this little screen comes down... and it's a shot of the Kennedy assassination from an angle you've never seen before, which looks suspiciously off the grassy knoll.... And then the screen comes up, the lights come on, and they say to the new president, 'Any questions?'

'Just what my agenda is.'
